The armed siege at a warehouse in Sandycroft is over, police have confirmed. It has emerged that it followed arrests yesterday of four men yesterday in relation to a cannabis farm that was found at the site, in the Chemistry Lane / Factory Road area of the village.
Man gives himself up
A man holed up in a unit in Sandycroft at the centre of an armed siege appears to have given himself up. The man was seen being put into the back of a police van at the end of the stand-off, which has so far lasted several hours.
Train delays
Delays on Arriva Trains Wales between Chester and Shotton due to emergency services dealing with the incident near the railway. Trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.
Sandycroft siege
Bryn Jones, who rents a garage next door to the incident, told the Daily Post: “The police were here a few months ago and served a warrant on a place next door. They were here yesterday driving up and down Factory Road several times. There’s my garage with a container in there. Then there’s another yard with all sorts of scrap in there. It looks like that is where the police are.”
