Changes to services between Chester and Crewe

Services affected between Monday, May 12 and Friday, May 16

Rob Stratford
Chester Railway Station - services are affected from May 12-16

Network Rail will be carrying out drainage work between Chester and Crewe at Christleton Tunnel between May 12 and 16, 2014.

This will help to prevent flooding in the future but will also affect services between Chester and Crewe during these dates.

There will be no Arriva Trains Wales train services running between Chester and Crewe,  however tickets are valid on connecting Virgin Train services between these stations (via a diverted route).

Where no connecting Virgin Train services are available, a rail replacement bus service will be provided.

Both the diverted route and the rail replacement bus will take longer than usual.

Arriva Trains Wales services that normally run between Holyhead and Crewe will start and terminate at Chester. Departure times will be the same as the normal published  timetable.

Passengers using the service between Chester and Crewe are asked to allow extra time as journey times will be longer.

Dogs (except guide dogs), cycles, prams and large items of luggage cannot be carried on replacement bus services.

For service information, please contact National Rail Enquiries 08457 48 49 50 or www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk.
