Bad weather earlier this month meant the switching on of Neston’s Christmas lights had to be postponed a week.

The popular Lights n Lanterns Parade, organised by the CH64 Events Group led by CAN, had originally been scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 5 but took place last Saturday instead, with Rev Alan Dawson, mayor Mike Shipman and Rotary Club of Neston president Guy Tilby pushing the button to light up the town.

Entertainment was provided by Linda Pelling, the Col and Si show, a children’s choir, Hip and Harmony community choir, 64 N’Ukes and Kenny and The Energy amongst others.

Children dressed as Mary and Joseph on a donkey led the parade youngsters got the chance to chat to Santa about their Christmas wishes.
