Drivers are being advised they will be unable to leave the eastbound M56 at junction 7 for Altrincham for four nights next week as it will be closed as part of construction work on the new £192 million A556 link road between the M56 and M6.

The exit slip road will be closed overnight on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – October 6, 7, 8 and 9 – between 9pm and 5am each night to allow A556 project earthworks and barrier removal.

Drivers can leave the M56 using the westbound exit slip at junction 7 by remaining on the eastbound carriageway, leaving the motorway at junction 6 for Hale and joining the westbound M56 from the junction roundabout there.

Drivers should leave extra time to complete journeys. Anyone setting out can check travel conditions before setting out on journeys.
