SINGER star Heather Small, voice of M People, and other fantastic performers are coming together to perform in a Christmas concert in Chester in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Christmas carol concert takes place at Chester Cathedral on Wednesday, December 9 at 7.30pm.

Special guest performer will be Heather Small, the voice of Manchester based band M People which sold over 10 million albums worldwide.

The event is supported by the Bank of America’s Fraud Department and Moneysupermarket.com.

It will be hosted by Smooth Radio and there will also be performances from the City of Chester Brass Band, the award winning Centenary Theatre Company, Harmony in Blue, The Liverpool Signing Choir and Ensemble Cymru.

Also in action will be Diane Tice, a cellist who launched her professional music career with a performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto in the United Nations Headquarters in New York in 1992.

Aimee Scally, fundraising manager for Chester, said: “We are extremely excited about this year’s event, and it’s fantastic that Heather Small is performing.

“The evening will be packed with performances from extremely talented individuals and groups of performers, and it would be wonderful to have as many people along to support Heather, the rest of the performers and most importantly people affected by cancer.”
