A lorry driver was taken to hospital by air ambulance after being involved in a collision with another HGV.
The male casualty was hurt following the incident on the A49 Warrington Road at Weaverham near Northwich about 11.40am today (Thursday, February 25).
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service say he was cut from his vehicle. Police understand he was airlifted to hospital suffering from leg injuries.
The collision is understood to have involved a white Volvo articulated lorry and a white DAF truck.
Police said the A49 was closed for a period of time but was reopened later that afternoon. There was no congestion in the immediate area because of diversions that were put in place.
The road was shut between Weaverham roundabout and the A533/A49 junction, Bartington traffic lights, to allow the recovery of the two HGVs.
Fire engines from Northwich, Runcorn and Winsford attended the scene, including a heavy rescue unit.
