LAUGHTER is the best medicine for a Kinglsey woman who has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Winifred Sidall marked the milestone with a makeover and a special party with family and friends at her Smithy Lane home on Thursday, January 21.

“I try to live my life with a smile on my face and I’ve always said that a laugh a day keeps the doctor away,” said Winifred.

“My body might be older, but I can honestly say I don’t feel any different today than when I was a little girl.

“I think playing bingo has helped to keep my mind sharp and I can still get through six books when I play today.”

Crissy Watson from the Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s Independent Living Team, presented Winifred with a special bouquet of flowers to mark the occasion.

“The Trust is delighted to present Winifred with a bouquet of flowers to wish her a happy birthday on this very special occasion,” said Crissy.

“She has been our customer for 21 years and it was wonderful to hear all of her stories about her life.”

Winifred has a daughter, three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
