The party atmosphere will return to Hoole for its second street festival of the year on September 25.

Live bands and buskers, dancers and 42 stalls will take over Faulkner Street, Charles Street and Hoole Community Centre for the family-friendly event.

Sue Mason, chair of Notting Hoole which is the community group behind the festival, explained that their May Day Street Festival was such a success that locals demanded it become a more regular event on the calendar.

Acitivities to keep youngsters happy will include crafts, handball, archery and photo booth fun thanks to Daisy Vintage Caravan.

There will also be Tots Play classes for toddlers.

While grown-ups will be able to take advantage of pop-up bars from Deva Craft Brewery and Chester Beer and Wine.

With Hobson’s Cafe set to cook up a ‘Hoole’ load of apples, Sue said: “To keep the community spirit alive on the Saturday before the festival why not go scrumping for apples and then bring them to the community centre where Dee Ciders will have their apple press – even windfall apples can be used so a great opportunity to clear your gardens.”

The stalls will be cleared by around 5pm when Faulkner Street will reopen.

But the party won’t end there, with The Lodge opening up their newly-landscaped garden for live music.

Charles Street will remain closed for more music and dancing.
