Headteacher delighted as 77% of students achieved at least five A*-C grades

GCSE students at Helsby High School are celebrating another set of excellent exam results with 53 students achieving at least five A*s or As.

Provisional analysis indicates that 77% of all students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades, and 98% achieving at least A*-G grades.

Particular congratulations goes to the 29 students who achieved eight or more A*s or As: Shara Blanchard, Emily Booth, Daniel Burnett, Ellen Cropley, Tara Desert, Emily Earps, Lucy Ellis, Andrew Gillott, Eleanor Hart, Sylvia Hayes, Eloise Houghton, Alice Hughes, Scott Jones, Matthew Kilborn, Kate Lancaster, Alexander McArthur, Megan McEveley, Millie Newall, Matthew Nield, Ellie Scarisbrick, Laura Stock-Caldwell, Jack Tudor, Rebecca Tudor, Lauren Usher, Thomas Vaughan, Katherine Vickery, Charlotte Walker, Faye Wetherall and Lucy Williams.

Headteacher John Dowler said: “We are delighted that the hard work of our young people has resulted in such an excellent set of GCSE results.

“Students of all talents and abilities have done extremely well. We would like to say thank you for all the support given by the students’ families but most of all we would like to say well done to our students.”
