A LOVING father tragically died after a night out in Frodsham when he was killed in a collision with a taxi just days before his daughter's GCSE results.

At just after 3am on Saturday, August 18, Daniel Patrick Brady, of Willow Grove in Elton, was walking home along Chester Road from a night out in the market town when he was involved in a collision with a black cab.

His family have paid tribute to the ‘amazing’ 41-year-old who was ‘extremely proud’ and doted on his two teenage daughters, who have been left devastated by their father's death.

Speaking to The Chronicle his sister Katrina said that Daniel, who was known as Danny or Dan to his friends and family, was well-known in the local community and would be missed by everyone who ever knew him.

“He was very hardworking, he never took any holidays even if he was ill,” said Katrina, who said that Danny's entire family had travelled from Ireland to her house in Prenton, Wirral, to help his parents, brothers and sisters and two daughters in the days after his death.

“He was very well known in Elton, everyone loved him. We do not know how it happened, he got out of the taxi early because he only had £10 left, so he was going to walk the rest of the way home.”

Katrina said his daughters, Abigail, 16, and Isabel 14,  who both attend Helsby High School, had been very close to their dad who had always been very proud of everything they did.

“Abigail got her GCSE results on Thursday. She got two A*s, eight As and a B; he would have been so proud of her,” said Katrina.

Danny was born and raised in Prenton before moving to Elton 15 years ago to work as a civil engineer.

Police are appealing for witnesses  to call Chester Operational Support Unit on 101, quoting incident number 193 of  August 18. The Cheshire coroner has yet to formally open an inquest into Mr Brady’s death.
