Investigators have ruled that an explosion at a commercial building on Deeside was caused by a fault.

A worker suffered minor burns as a result of the blaze at the Excelsior Technologies Ltd site on Parkway, Deeside Industrial Park, last Thursday afternoon (March 24).

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed today (March 29) that the fire was caused by a fault which led to solvent vapours igniting inside ducting.

The Health and Safety Executive says it’s aware of the incident and is 'making initial enquiries with the fire service'.
