It was lucky there were no injuries when a bus collided with a shelter following an allegation of a missile having been thrown at the windscreen.

The incident happened in Foregate Street, Chester, about 11.30pm last Wednesday (April  9) where a youth was later arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Sergeant Andy Burrage said: “Nobody was injured in the collision although the bus and the stand sustained damage. As a result of enquiries at the scene, and an allegation that a missile had been thrown at the bus prior to the collision, a 16-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and taken into custody.

“She has been released on police bail and will return to the police station at a later date”.
