Chester will feature on a popular Channel 4 antique show this week.

Staff from Minerva Lodge Tattoo Club on Upper Northgate Street spent two days with Mark Franks from The French Collection show earlier this year, for an episode which will air at 4pm on Friday July 31.

The programme sees teams buy artefacts from France before trying to persuade UK traders to snap them up.

Minerva was approached by the channel because of the unique, quirky and urban antique look of their studio, which opened in 2014 and in the show will be visiting different businesses around the city to find a buyer for their antique treasures.

Steven Bowness who owns the studio along with Jo Talbot, previously told The Chronicle he was thrilled to have been featured on the show. “We got involved after being approached by a Channel 4 scout who approached us. They had been recommended to come and see us by a few different business in the city due to the look and style of our studio. It’s great that the show has chosen Chester as a location for the show.

“Hopefully it will show people what a beautiful, vibrant and alive city Chester really is,” he added.
