A Chester hospital has been celebrating the achievements of one of its longest serving members of staff.

Ward clinical lead Sandra Crabbe has worked at the Nuffield Health Chester Hospital, The Grosvenor, for 32 years, having started her career with Nuffield Health in 1984, when she was employed as an enrolled nurse.

She then progressed to ward sister, a position she held for two years before taking up her current role.

Responsible for overseeing the care of patients in her 32-bed unit, Sandra manages a team of 31 permanent and temporary staff, as well as supporting services that take place on the ward.

Sandra was recently invited to a West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce event to talk about Nuffield Health Chester Hospital, The Grosvenor, its care for their patients and how the hospital business has changed in the last three decades.

Sandra said: “Very few people are lucky enough to spend such a significant period of their working life in a job they love, work for a company that shares their values and commitment to providing the highest standard of care for both patients and staff.

“As the hospital and organisation have grown and changed, so have I. However, my core values have remained embedded within my role.

“It has been an honour to be part of Nuffield Health, The Grosvenor Hospital’s journey from small cottage hospital to a key player in a national chain of leading private hospitals, delivering an extensive range of treatments and services to the local community.

“I continue to enjoy every day in my job and I am passionate about giving our patients the very best care and promoting health and wellbeing across Cheshire, North Wales and Merseyside.”

Sales and services manager at Nuffield Health Chester Jenny Gray added: “Sandra’s core values and incredible work ethic make her an invaluable and compassionate member of our team, who ensures we are able to continue delivering excellent, patient-centred care.

“We are lucky to have had 32 years of her service, support and leadership and we are looking forward to many more.”
