The January freeze shows no sign of subsiding and parts of Chester have seen snow this morning (Thursday, January 29) - and we're on snow watch.

A yellow weather warning for snow is currently in place.

Temperatures in the city are currently a balmy three degrees and are unlikely to rise much higher, while snow has already settled outside the Chronicle offices in Sealand Road and on Chester Racecourse.

Chris Page, a forecaster at the Met Office, said: “There is a showery set-up - some places will see snow showers and some won’t.

“The added complication is the wind. There will be some strong winds in the North West, especially in exposed sites - up to gale force gusts, which will make dangerous travelling conditions.”
