A CITY centre butchers store is hoping to raise as much money for a good cause this week through the sale of its sausages.

C S Austin, based on Northgate Street, will be donating £1 to the Liverpool-based Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology for every pound of its award-winning Chester sausages it sells until this Saturday.

The NHS Trust centre helps people with cancer during their treatment and their recovery.

Chris Austin, owner of the butchers shop, said: “We are trying to raise as much as we can and would hope people will help support us in this cause as it is very close to my heart.

“I am personally overcoming treatment I’ve received at Clatterbridge for prostate cancer and, after seeing how wonderful the staff and hospital have been in helping my recovery, I feel it would be nice to give something back.

“By buying just one pound of our sausages, people will be helping to raise money so the oncology unit can help others to get through their cancer treatment and care.”
