A BREWERY chairman has died after falling from his horse on the Cheshire Hunt in Malpas.

Richard Gilchrist, 50, of Broxton, the former chairman of Warrington based Burtonwood brewery and who was most recently the chairman of the Hook Norton Brewery, Oxfordshire, died on Saturday (January 24) after falling from his horse on the Cheshire Hunt at Hetherson Green, Malpas.

Police spokesperson Shelley Williams said: “At about mid-day at Hetherson Green, Malpas, a 50-year-old man died following an accident on horse back. The coroner has been informed.”

Tracey Leung of the North West Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at about 12.11pm, a male had fallen of a horse and was taken to the Countess of Chester hospital. An ambulance, a community search responder and a rapid response vehicle attended.”
