A car dealership has moved into larger premises – creating a jobs boost and a better customer experience.

Inchcape Volkswagen, previously named Dane Volkswagen, has relocated to a state-of-the-art showroom at the former Boots distribution warehouse further along Sealand Road.

The existing offices and part of the warehouse unit on the site were demolished, and then the building extended and re-clad.

Covering more than four acres, the new site is larger, with a 17 new car showroom, bodyshop, and 23 bay service centre.

Chris McCabe, Inchcape Volkswagen’s brand manager, said: “After eight months of construction it’s fantastic to be able to open the business to customers.

“We’ve invested in this new site so that we can expand as a business – the brand new premises allow us to feature more vehicles in the showroom which delivers a much more rewarding experience for our customers.

“We’re also looking at ways of increasing our staff numbers and providing more people with the chance to work for a well-respected and prestigious brand.

“Initial customer reaction has been fantastic and we’re delighted that so many people have dropped in to see the new premises, and understand just what a great environment it is for customers and staff.

“The much larger outdoor car park and display area means customers will always have a wide range of vehicles to choose from and enough space to park their own car while they look around.”

It is understood talks are taking place with the Hunters Land Rover dealership in Sealand Road about the possibility of taking over the Volkswagen dealership’s old site, which is next door.
