A CHESTER school celebrated a winning set of GCSE results.

At The King’s School 81.3% of all passes were A* or A, with 40% of students achieving straight A*/A grades in all subjects.

Nine students gained 10 A*s, eight gained nine A*s and 20 students gained straight A*/As. Pupils’ hard work ensured 96% of all passes were A*-B.

Headmaster Chris Ramsey said: “These students justly deserve these great results after working with consistent endeavour in both their GCSE and iGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) courses.

“My congratulations go to them and the dedicated teachers who have helped them.”

Students gaining 10 A*s included: Edward Andrade, of Chester, Joe Benson, of Marford, Matthew Chadwick, of Higher Kinnerton, Graham Bendall, of Mold, Joe Dillamore, of Saughall, James Ellis, of Chester, Peter Johnstone, of Chester, Tom Menzies, of Chester and Ed Pilkington, of Hope.
