A CHESTER woman has become the new face at one of Britain’s popular hotel groups.

Cassandra Forshaw has taken on the post of regional sales and marketing manager for the Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel on St John Street, Chester and Craxton Wood Hotel in Ledsham, and is looking forward to her new challenge.

“It is a really exciting time for both hotels and apart from raising their profile and putting them back on the map, I’m also launching a new restaurant concept, wine bar and coffee lounge,” said the 33-year-old, whose passion for hotels started when she started a silver service waitress job at the age of 16.

After completing a post graduated qualification in marketing, she was able to develop her passion when she joined the hotel group De Vere in its marketing department.

Cassandra said: “During my 10 years service I was promoted a total of seven times and held the position as senior marketing manager for a portfolio of 45, four and five-star hotels, including dedicated conference venues located from Scotland to London and the south coast.

“Throughout this period I played a pivotal role in achieving a whole range of accolades and awards and in August 2009 I took the opportunity to move to Australia and gained valuable experience on an international level, as well as working on a consultancy basis and building a roster of new clients.”
