A FIRM of solicitors in Ellesmere Port is celebrating 25 years in business.

Jacobs Solicitors, based in Whitby Road, opened its doors to the public for the first time on October 1, 1986.

The firm was established by, and takes its name from, the late Maurice Jacobs, who practised as a solicitor there for many years.

One of the original partners – Sue Harrop – is still at the firm, with Sue Burton joining in 1987 and Robin Boag in 1990.

Elaine Shell, who is now a solicitor at Jacobs, was also an original member of staff.

As well as providing legal service in the areas of family law, crime, wills, probate and property matters, Jacobs raises money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and other local charitable causes.
