A WEDDING, a banquet, an international business conference or charity fundraiser are all in a day’s work for the Conference team at The Doubletree by Hilton in Chester.
Cheshire has long been a magnet for social events weddings and parties but has become increasingly popular with a new breed of customer – the business tourist.
Conference visitors have become a profitable market in Cheshire with high spend visitors drawn to the larger hotels to host their annual AGM or present projects to corporate delegates..
Pauline Downing conference manager explained: “Conferencing business is very competitive but we have a successful local and international profile in the Hilton brand.
“We are flexible to the tone of conference that businesses want from team building exercises to the more traditional theatre style conferences. which can host up to 220 people.
“We can arrange secretary gatherings, organise charity cabaret evenings, or even just be a relaxing corporate retreat.”
Word of mouth is a powerful tool for Pauline’s team as many repeat clients are recommending their conference facilities and first-class service.
She said: “We are getting increasing interest from corporate clients who are local they tend to repeat visit. One of the biggest factors is that people have been before.
“Personal recommendations are proving big for us. We ask our clients how they heard of us and they have either been before or have come on recommendation.
“We invest in our service training all our staff are regularly trained in looking after our clients.”
Pauline added: “The Marco Pierre White restaurant and The Club and Spa is a very big selling point for us. Delegates know they can come here for work and play.”
