BUDDING kitchen stars have been treated to a live demonstration from one of the region’s top chefs.

Leigh Myers, executive chef at the four-star Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa in Cheshire, hosted a Ready, Steady, Learn to Cook evening.

Guests were treated to a three-course dinner in the hotel’s Grosvenor suite, which included roast parsnip and chestnut soup, turkey with festive trimmings and crème brulee with homemade marshmallows.

Those anxious about preparations for Christmas were relieved to find out the secret to Leigh’s one-hour turkey recipe.

In a career which has included stints at the Northcote Manor Hotel, Paul Heathcote’s Longridge and the Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey, Leigh is well equipped to deal with any culinary conundrums.

He said: “People will often come to the restaurant and ask about certain techniques and ingredients so I thought it would be nice to host an evening where all their questions can be answered at the same time as enjoying some great cooking.”
