AFTER months of anticipation we will find out which firms are the pride of the county at tonight’s Cheshire Business Awards presentation evening.

AFTER months of anticipation we will find out which firms are the pride of the county at tonight’s Cheshire Business Awards presentation evening.

A huge number of companies from across the county have put their names forward hoping to win one of our coveted trophies.

Despite the challenging economic climate they are determined to ride out the storm and face the future with optimism.

This year our independent panel of judges were faced with a real headache when it came to deciding which companies should be included on our shortlist.

Firms of all types and sizes have been nominated for the awards, which are judged in nine categories ranging from start-ups to some of the region’s biggest employers. The trophies will be awarded to firms which have shown enterprise, tenacity and a determination to succeed.

We have joined forces with sponsors from across the region to pay tribute to the county’s best firms and individuals.

The awards night will be hosted by TV news presenter Lucy Meacock and entertainment will be provided by Chester band The Funky Doctors.

Donations and any monies raised in a raffle during the evening will be donated to the Chronicle-backed charity Miles of Smiles, which arranges trips to Disneyland Paris for the region’s sick and disabled children.

Raffle prizes include:A two-day weekend trip to London with tickets for a Saturday night West End show, donated by Trinity Mirror.

£100 worth of vouchers to use at the Frodsham Laser Clinic, donated by The Frodsham Laser Clinic.

More than £100 worth of organic beauty products, donated by LoveLula.com.

SESDerma skin products worth £100, donated by The Frodsham Laser Clinic.

A meal for two at the new Kings Grill restaurant at the Queen Hotel, donated by the Queen Hotel, Chester.

£30 in vouchers for the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, donated by Cheshire Farm Ice Cream.

A Santa’s Little Helper dress, donated by Sparkling Strawberry.

The event will start at 6.30pm with a drinks reception, followed by the awards presentations and a four-course meal. The awards ceremony is due to conclude at approximately 11pm, followed by entertainment by the eight-piece soul band.
