Super slimmers held a mass clothes swapping event at their respective Weight Watchers meetings.
To celebrate their weight loss, members of Sandra Lewis’ Saltney and Deeside groups brought in some of their oversized clothes to swap them for others of a better fit.
They each paid £1 for every item they bought – with the £675 proceeds going towards Diabetes UK and Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham.
Sandra said: “Weight loss is a great journey but it can be difficult to find the right things to wear as you progress and your shape changes – not to mention it’s expensive having to buy new clothes all the time.
“With this swishing event, we were able to celebrate the fantastic weight loss success we’ve already seen this year in Flintshire, whilst also giving members the opportunity to bring in the clothes that are now too big for them and swap them for smaller ones.”
She added: “It’s been a lovely opportunity for us to support two very deserving causes.”
The fundraising event is part of a nationwide Weight Watchers initiative where members and leaders aim to raise as much Sandra explained: “As well as fundraising, we’re also celebrating the support given to our local members by helping them lose over 3,143 stone so far this year.
“With obesity becoming an ever-growing concern, I am so proud to be part of such an achievement of those members who are taking some great steps to reduce their weight and get healthier.”
