ALTERNATIVE prog-rock outfit Motion Theory will be moving into The Box in Crewe on Friday for a headlining performance.
The four-piece, who have roots in Cheshire, formed two years ago at Durham University and haven’t looked back since.
All accomplished musicians with both classical and punk/funk/rock backgrounds, they have an EP, an award-winning album and a couple of successful UK tours to their name.
Frontman Dom, guitarist Jamie, bassist James and drummer Will have been described by the Manchester Evening News as “Manchester's reigning head boys of cerebral heavy rock - combining the dense, almost industrial textures of Nine Inch Nails with the expansive, anthemic rock dynamics of Muse and Radiohead”.
In September last year their debut album Featherhead was awarded Unsigned Record of the Week by Manchester Music and the title track was a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest.
Support at the Pedley Street venue comes from local talents six-piece Angel Range, Creature Fear and Gravities.
Doors open at 8pm and admission is £5, for more details visit www.theboxcrewe.co.uk
