BASED on the 1956 smash hit which starred the likes of Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Celeste Holm, this production promises to bring all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood to Crewe from Tuesday.
A theatre spokeswoman said: “Featuring all the glamorous style and spectacle of a golden age, High Society includes some of the era’s best loved songs, such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, True Love and Swell Party.
“So forget the credit crunch and for one evening grab a glass of bubbly, kick of your shoes and join the Lord family with fabulous costumes, wonderful sets and dazzling performances.”

Dreamboats and Petticoats (Regent Theatre, Hanley, until Oct 17)
BILL Kenwright’s original musical Dreamboats and Petticoats promises to have audiences singing along at the Regent Theatre this week.
The new feel-good musical, which runs until Saturday, features some of the greatest hit songs of the rock ‘n’ roll era such as tracks from Roy Orbison and the Shadows.
The show stars Francesca Jackson, a finalist from hit BBC show I’d Do Anything, and Grease is the Word finalist Wayne Smith.
Shows start at 8pm with 2.30pm matinee performances today (Wednesday) and Saturday.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Manchester Palace Theatre, Oct 20-25)
ANDREW Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s classic musical will be lighting up the Palace Theatre next week.
This new touring production of the internationally acclaimed show has been winning rave reviews up and down the country.
It features all the singalongs including Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me and One More Angel.

Shakers (Lyceum Theatre, Crewe, Oct 17)
JOHN Godber’s tale of life through the eyes of four cocktail waitresses comes to the Lyceum on Saturday.
Set during the 1980s the comedy tells the story of four ambitious waitresses Carol, Adele, Nicky and Mel, and introduces a variety of characters propping up the bar and out for a night on the tiles.
A theatre spokeswoman said: “Written by award winning writing team John Godber and Jane Thornton, this hilarious faced paced comedy promises to have you laughing out loud.”
