The Labour Party are in control of Cheshire West and Chester Council with 38 councillors with Conservatives having 36 and one independent. Chester has a Labour MP, Chris Matheson, while the rural Eddisbury constituency has Conservative MP Antoinette Sandbach. Ellesmere Port and Neston has Labour's Justin Madders as MP while Tory Graham Evans is MP for Weaver Vale which covers Frodsham and Helsby.
