Tarporley Christmas Lights Switch-On at the Chestnut Tree
Friday, December 5 is the Christmas Lights Switch-On at the Chestnut Tree in Tarporley, children from the Primary School and Decibellas Ladies' choir will be singing from 6pm.
Ellesmere Port Hospital Christmas Lights Switch-On
The lights are ready to be switched on at Ellesmere Port Hospital in the trees at the front of the hospital on Monday, December 8 at 6pm. Carols will be sung and there is a quiet time for reflection. Following the service tea and mince pies are served in the hospital. Lights can be lit in celebration and memory of a loved one or in celebration of an event. Chester Christmas Market
November 20 - December 14. Visiting shoppers will be able to revel in the choice of stalls at the new and improved FREE Christmas Market with over 70 traditional wooden chalets positioned outside Chester’s Town Hall. The new Chester Christmas Market will take place from November 20 until December 14 offering a variety of quality products, including crafts, clothing, jewellery, giftware and local food and drink from carefully chosen suppliers.

November 29 - January 6. Free entry. The festival will feature more than 40 majestic Christmas trees, transforming the cathedral cloisters into astonishing tree-lined winter walkways.
Winter Watch Parade
December 4. Karamba Samba as the ‘ghost band’ lead a fun parade of skeletons, Christmas cooks, angels and devils as they celebrate the Winter solstice. Dating from the 1400’s, local artists and community groups join together to celebrate the time when the city leaders would hand over the keys to the city watch. Watch out for the fire breathing and the skeleton Emperor! Follow the parade from Town Hall Square, down St. Werburgh Street, Eastgate Street, Bridge Street, The Cross and Northgate Street. 7-8pm.
