The wife of a popular Chester man who died following a two-year cancer battle will join her burlesque dance group for an event in support of the charity set up in his honour.

Tara Jones, wife of former Chester Academy FC coach Danny Jones, will join Beguiled Burlesque on June 5 at The Civic Hall, Ellesmere Port, to raise funds for Franklin’s Star and Brain Tumour Research.

Tara who performed with the girls at the Cheshire Christmas Ball in December is hoping the show will be a huge success.

She said: “The girls of Beguiled have always supported me in a different way too. When I was drowning in a sea of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and caring for my beautiful husband they provided a retreat. I would put on my dancing shoes and for that hour and a half on a Thursday I was just one of the girls; I’d quite literally let my hair down and dance my troubles away.

“After several months off, I returned to see the girls last week and I was welcomed back to the troop with open arms, it was like I had never been away -apart from I’d forgotten what I was doing and spent most of my time on the floor!

“So on the 5th I’ll be joining them for a dance or two to show my support for them, for Franklin’s Star and because apart from anything else Danny always loved the moves.”
