Jeans for Genes, which raises money for children who are affected by some of the most serious and life-threatening genetic disorders, is celebrating 20 years.

And this year, the national charity has a host of stars from Kate Moss to Coleen Rooney who have backed the campaign which is on Friday September 18, by wearing their latest limited edition fashion t-shirt.

It is estimated that 1 in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder and 30,000 babies and children are newly diagnosed in the UK each year.

To help raise awareness and money for these children and their families, Jeans for Genes Day encourages everyone to wear their jeans and pay a donation, or you can buy the new charity top on the Jeans for Genes website for £9.

WAG Coleen Rooney says: "Having experienced first-hand the everyday joy, but also struggles of having a sibling with a genetic disorder can bring, I’m delighted to be supporting, once again, Jeans for Genes. It’s a fantastic way to raise funds for a very worthwhile cause, and everyone can support, after all what could be easier than wearing a pair of jeans?!”

Other celebrities who have shown their support for Jeans for Genes are Spice Girls Mel C and Emma Bunton, Corrie's Kym Marsh, actress Michelle Keegan, TV presenter Amanda Holden, singer and TV presenter Olly Murs, Olympic gymnast Louis Smith and TOWIE's Sam and Billie Faiers.

Another supporter is model Katie Price who says: "I have been an avid supporter of Jeans for Genes since 2012 and it’s a cause that is very close to my heart. I understand first-hand some of the obstacles that families’ battle with while raising a child with a genetic disorder.

"I feel honoured to be supporting Jeans for Genes Day again this year as it’s a charity that deserves recognition for its support with families and children affected by genetic disorders; we should all do something extraordinary this year to celebrate 20 life-changing years of Jeans for Genes Day. I will be wearing my jeans on September 18th, and I want to encourage as many people as possible to sign up and wear their jeans and help transform lives.”

The stars want to highlight the importance of Jeans for Genes Day and how easy it is for you to support the cause and get involved.

This year's limited edition T-shirt was designed by 20-year-old Edinburgh College of Art Illustration student Elle McKee, after her drawing was selected by a team of fashion experts who were impressed by the simple, yet wearable design. This is available on Jeans for Genes' website for £20.
