Still in the planning stages for your trip out to Chester Races? The first place to start would be buying your tickets.

If you are a first-timer or a veteran, it is best to go direct.

Tickets are already available for each meeting of the season from the Chester Races website or by calling the racecourse 01244 304610.

But what types of ticket are on offer?

Open Course

Perfect for families, the open course in the centre of the track with plenty of space for a picnic.

Usually around £10-12 and the cheapest tickets for each meeting, guests are also allowed to bring their own food and soft drinks.

A more relaxed dress code is another reason to bring the kids along.

Dee Stand

Costing either £14 or £15 during the opening week of the 2016 season, there is also currently a buy 10 get one free deal for the Dee Stand available from Chester Races.


The racecourse's largest stand, Tattersalls provides an excellent view overlooking the finishing straight with access to the bars, catering and the betting ring. Tickets are priced around the £36 mark.

County Concourse

It will cost you £48-52 for a seat in the County Stand during the Boodles May Festival, but you will also get access to the champagne bar.

Winning Post Enclosure

New for 2016, the Winning Post offers race-goers the chance to get up close and personal with all the action.

Prices for the opening fixture of the season range from £78-90.
