A successful family fun day was held at Allington Place play area in Handbridge.

It was organised by Handbridge Community Association as a tribute to the life and work of Marjorie Meacock, known to all as Marj, who organised many of Handbridge’s community events until her untimely death last November.

Entry to the event was free and was well attended.

Activities included a bouncy “disco” castle, tombola prize draw, peg board tombola for youngsters, a tea and coffee stand serving hotdogs, various raffles, cakes and sweet stalls, face-painting and nail-painting and guessing games.

Events and sports activities with prizes included community arts and crafts workshop, circus skills and football/goal-scoring challenges and there were many other interactive events for adults and children.
