This Saturday (September 24) sees the final fixture in Chester’s 2016 racing calendar, The Golden Square Shopping Centre Season Finale, take place at Chester Racecourse.

Golden Square Centre director Ian Cox said: “We are delighted once again to sponsor the season finale at Chester Racecourse. As a shopping centre our ethos is based on shopping, food and fun. And we hope everyone has a great time with friends and family this Saturday, win or lose.”

Thousands of racegoers will descend on the Roodee for a six-race celebration of competitive sport, bringing the season to a spectacular close. Gates open at 11.30am with the first race, The Corbettsports Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, commencing at 2.30pm.

Adding to the celebrations, Olympic gold medallist and member of Team GB Women’s Hockey Team Sam Quek will be in attendance to share her experience in Rio with the crowds and showcase her prestigious gold medal.

Sam will be on hand to present the winners of Saturday’s raceday competition with cash prizes; details of how to enter are featured online at chester-races.com

As ever, there will be free activities for children out on the open course with an inflatable slide and bounce dome.

Making a welcome return and for older participants, the climbing wall is back giving those who climb to the top a great vantage point across the course.

Entry for children on racedays is free of charge, while tickets for adults start at just £10 on the open course. Contact the box office on 01244 304 610 to find out remaining availability and to secure your place.
