Chester favourites Goodfellas are back at Alexander’s this Friday for an outdoor concert in Rufus Court.

The last time the soul band played at the city centre venue, the rain got the better of the gig, moving it indoors.

Now they are ending August with a great night of swinging music out in the courtyard.

Goodfellas, with their 10 piece horn section and Blues Brothers style soul and R&B, are always a hit with audiences, regularly filling the dance floor.

Tickets £8 available from the bar at Alexander’s Jazz Theatre, online at www.alexanderslive.com, by calling 01244 340 005, or on the door which opens at 8pm.

FRACTURED Sound will be hosting their only summer gig in Alexander’s in Chester this year on Sunday (September 1).

The party will see a gathering of great DJs performing throughout the day with Real Connoisseur headlining.

Other acts include Pressure Drop, Once PM, Sean Daugherty, Brad Hogan, Rolo TJPN, Rarebit, Evan Mckinnery and Lewis Taylor.

The day will start in the garden at 1pm with music throughout the afternoon.

Alexander’s is also hosting its regular afternoon of jazz inside from 2-5pm.

There will also be a variety of stalls such as local clothing and a stall from Garden Lane Record Shop.

The party will continue inside Alexander’s from 6pm where more great sounds can be heard until midnight.

Headliner Real Connoisseur is a 19-year-old producer/DJ from Oxford who has been immersed in music for his entire life.
