An Italian choir will be spending a festive weekend in Chester next week as part of an exchange trip with the city’s A Handbag of Harmonies.

A Handbag of Harmonies enjoyed a sell out tour of venues in northern Italy in May as they were hosted by Il Coro Calycanthus from Treviglio near Milan.

The Chester choir have now been busily preparing a warm Chester welcome for the choir as they travel to the city at the beginning of December to perform.

Musical director Matt Baker said “We had such an amazing time in Italy. We were treated like royalty everywhere we went and our performances went down a storm. We are working hard to ensure the Italian choir have a very warm welcome to our beautiful city, and what better time than this magical time of year when Chester really looks wonderful.”
