As part of a summer of great music celebrating the 25th of Alexander’s in Chester’s, the venue is kicking off with a new weekly blues night.

The night will feature some of the country’s most prolific blues artists all the way up until the end of August and on Thursday, July 23 it will be Ramshackle.

Ramshackle are a four piece guitar-driven blues rock band from the North West.

With experience of everything from cabaret to supporting major artists on tour they have built up a unique repertoire consisting of foot-stomping classic blues, off-radar blues and Americana, funk, some down and dirty rock ‘n’ roll numbers plus some startling originals, this band really knows how to make their audience sit up and take notice.

Ramshackle are:

Simon Noble (guitars, vocals) - Liverpool-based songwriter and established blues guitarist who fronts this four piece band. With a wealth of experience on the the British music circuit over many years Simon brings a rare combination of blistering guitar skills and gritty vocals to a line up of blues influenced musicians.

Andrew Lewis (piano, Hammond organ and vocals) - Rare indeed these days to find keyboard players whose roots are as much in the Preservation Hall of New Orleans as they are influenced by British R’nB. His outstanding vocals and succinct keyboard style bring something special to the band.

Craig Robinson (bass guitar, vocals) - Hailing from Northern Ireland, his quiet ,unassuming personality belies his rock solid approach and flamboyant playing style, as he lays down funky, soulful grooves.

John A Hilton (drums) - Now in his fifth decade behind the kit his style remains simple yet solid with a command of dynamics so often missing in live performances. His experiences of touring, session work and latterly as record producer bolster an unerring ability to draw all the strands of the band together to form a rock solid rhythm base from which springs such a memorable live shows.
