It has already been a great year for Winsford born and bred indie-rock four-piece The Luka State, who return with their second single for 2015 entitled Can’t Help Myself, which will be released on June 8 on Project Records.

The new single, which is already currently Amazing Radio’s Track Of The Week, is taken from the band’s forthcoming debut mini-album The Price of Education, also set for release on June 8.

The Luka State are Conrad Ellis (lead vocals/guitar), Sam Bell (bass), Lewis Pusey (guitar) and Jake Barnabas (drums), and the four-piece can already boast more than 1.2 million views on their YouTube channel as well as UK radio airplay support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Kerrang! Radio.

Mixed by acclaimed producer Chris Sheldon (Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, Feeder), Can’t Help Myself plays out like an epic mix of rock and disco, with crashing drums and swelling guitars all overlaid with Conrad’s angsty vocals.

Conrad said: “The song is about love and lust. Not being able to control your urges and your habits. Sometimes the people you love haunt you and those memories don’t go away.

“I wrote the song as quite a slow acoustic track originally, but when it came to demoing it there was something missing. We fired up this beat on the computer and the rest just kind of fell in to place.”

Formed in 2012 in their native Winsford, The Luka State have played self-funded tours of the UK, North America and Europe while also winning over hearts and minds on their recent UK live jaunt as special guests of One Night Only.
