There are rumours flying around that there is a superb tribute act to Fleetwood Mac doing the rounds.

For once, these rumours are in fact – fact, as the celebrated Rumours of Fleetwood Mac are touring their acclaimed show in an exhaustive 26-date UK tour.

Having performed 500 major concert shows to over a half a million fans around the world since they formed over a decade ago, Rumours of Fleetwood Mac return to the UK to present a spectacular new stage production celebrating the music of the legendary rock group Fleetwood Mac.

They play at Crewe’s Lyceum Theatre on Friday January 22.

Their new show will showcase and celebrate in meticulous note-for-note detail, all the classic hits from one of the most outstanding and enduring catalogues in the history of recorded music, and a legacy of blues, rock and pop classics that made Fleetwood Mac icons of the music industry.

Recognised internationally as the leading tribute to Fleetwood Mac in their various incarnations, and with founding member Mick Fleetwood’s golden seal of approval, this stunning show reflects on an epic journey of lasting relationships through changing eras and musical styles, from the exciting hub of the 60s London blues scene to staggering commercial success in the 70s and 80s, and beyond.

The original Fleetwood Mac had a string of hits from Albatross through Go Your Own Way, Dreams, Little Lies and Everywhere to name but a few.

Amazingly though, the tribute band came about by accident as told by drummer Allan Cosgrove.

He said: “It was never really planned that we be a tribute to Fleetwood Mac, even though we are all fans of their music.

“The five core members of the band, who incidentally are still the core of the band today got together to record an American advert and had to sound like the US band Heart.

“When we heard the playback the producer Brian Rawling, who has worked with the likes of Cher and Tina Turner said that we sounded more like Fleetwood Mac and we agreed.”

It was then that the idea of a tribute band came to Allan, but he needed the blessing of the original band.

He continued: “We later recorded a couple of songs off Mac’s album Rumours and sent them off to Mick Fleetwood. He’d been a mate ever since I was in The Merseybeats, and he gave us the thumbs up.

“Since than he’s seen us perform and even joined us on stage.”
