March 30 sees the release of New Motion’s debut four-track EP Anyway - just ahead of their gig at The Compass in Chester on Wednesday, April 1.
Signed to Tidal Recordings, the label responsible for launching one of 2015’s most hotly tipped bands Coasts, Anyway is a bold statement from the Hertfordshire newcomers.
With a sharp look and sound, New Motion fuse infectious melodies with an undeniable 80s sensibility. Boasting an EP (produced by Antonio Hanna) that stretches from pop anthems to heart yearning ballads, lead track Anyway is a stellar example of New Motion’s songwriting capabilities.
New Motion consists of Josh Clarke (lead vocals and guitar), Harvey Downes (vocals and guitar), Jack Cox (drums) and John Heatley (bass). The band already look set for an exciting 2015 that will see them touring for the first time and and heading their first London show at Camden’s Barfly.
