Eighties pop legend Paul Young and his band Los Pacaminos are making a much-anticipated return to Frodsham.

Just over a year on from their debut, the group are returning to the town in a real coup for the Frodsham Festival organisers.

Los Pacaminos will play at the Forest Hills hotel on December 17.

Young had two number one albums with his debut No Parlez in 1983 and the follow-up The Secret of Association two years later. His cover of Marvin Gaye’s ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)’ topped the singles chart in 1983.

Los Pacaminos are Jamie Moses, Drew Barfield, Steve Greetham, Melvin Duffy and Mark Pinder.

Frontman Young has claimed the group is still going through their love music and they have toured alongside Queen, Tom Jones and Robbie Williams since starting out in 1992.

He said: “We’re all past wanting to play or listen to music that depresses.”

The group rocked Frodsham Community Centre on December 11 last year and clearly enjoyed it so much they wanted to come back.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets, which cost £17.50, are available on 07976 378391 or via email at frodshamfestival@outlook.com.
