Manchester-based singer-songwriter Stefan Melbourne takes centre stage at the open mic session at Telford’s Warehouse in Chester on Sunday, March 23.

Filed neatly next to popular troubadours Ben Howard, Ray Lamontagne and Bon Iver, Melbourne binds fragile, heartfelt lyrics to simple yet robust musicality.

A busy 2013 saw him supporting the likes of Ryan Keen, Kathryn Williams, Rae Morris, Nathaniel Rateliff, George Ezra, John Smith and Luke Sital Singh.

2014 sees Melbourne return with his new EP The Way We Fall. Recorded over five cold December days in Manchester’s Sacred Trinity Church with producer Sam Jones, it also features Dave Walsh on drums (Tom McRae), John Parker on double bass (Nizlopi/Paper Aeroplanes) and vocals from Welsh songbird Chloe Leavers.
