Liverpool will always have the Beatles and the Bunnymen, while Manchester can lay claim to the Stone Roses and Joy Division.

By comparison, Chester has – not surprisingly – found it hard to compete with its two powerhouse neighbours when it comes to producing internationally-acclaimed music acts.

The biggest hit song to emerge from these parts came from a ventriloquist and a green duck called Orville – and that was nearly 40 years ago – but that's not to say Chester does not have its own proud history when it comes to rock and pop music.

You just have to dig a little deeper to find it.

This fun quiz celebrates that history, the cool and the not-so-cool. So give it a try and don't forget to share your results on Twitter or Facebook.
