A church near Mold will welcome a popular Scottish folk singer for a concert this weekend.

Yvonne Lyon’s work has been described as “just stunning music” by BBC Radio 2 and now she will perform at Cilcain Parish Church on Sunday, June 1 at 7pm.

It’s the second time she has played at the church and since her first appearance in 2012 she has embarked on a new venture.

Yvonne and her husband David are founder members of Kilmarnock Edition who released their first album last year.

Meanwhile Yvonne has been touring with Eddi Reader, supporting her on the English and Scottish legs of her UK tour.

Both Yvonne and David will perform in Cilcain and the rector of St Mary’s Church, the Rev Adrian Copping, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Yvonne and David to Cilcain. Last time Yvonne performed it was nearly a sell-out and we’re expecting even more people to come and experience her uplifting and beautiful songs this time around.”

Tickets are £10 and are available from St Mary’s Church, Cilcain Village Shop or online at www.wegottickets.com.
