Llangollen and Chester-based five piece Campfire Social are returning to Telford’s Warehouse in Chester on Friday, November 11 to launch their new single.
Their incandescent, melodic songs take the intimate heartbreak of Elliott Smith and embellish with golden harmonies borrowed from The Beach Boys.
Campfire Social grew out of the ashes of the highly regarded Shy and the Fight. Tom Hyndman was that band’s chief songwriter.
Tom said: “It’s about taking a personal subject that I think everyone can relate to and giving it life, by adding a hopeful melody.”
They will be joined on Friday by Chester favourite Alx Green who has just released his latest EP.
Though Alx has been playing in bands for many years, it was only relatively recently he started to indulge his love for acoustic based music. The 24 year old self-taught musician grew up heavily influenced by his musical parents and began playing guitar at a very young age.
His latest EP It Won’t Last was recently released just before a week long tour of London playing a different venue every night to share his music with new audiences, the final night being at the Natural History Museum.
