Folk fans can look forward to a great night out as Chester prepares to welcome BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards finalists O’Hooley & Tidow when they play a gig at St Mary’s Centre on Sunday, October 11.
The couple’s recent accomplishments include a personal invite from Billy Bragg to play Glastonbury, sessions on BBC 6 Music and Radio 2, a five-star live review and feature in The Guardian, culminating in a MOJO Folk Album of the Year award 2014 for groundbreaking album The Hum, O’Hooley & Tidow.
They are regarded as lionhearted trailblazers of contemporary music and songwriting, with the originality and skill to invite comparison with the most celebrated harmony duos.
The event is presented by local promoter SoundBox, in association with Chester Fringe as part of its October events.
Music for the first half of the evening is provided by Price, Jones & Dear, 2015 Chester Folk Festival and headliners at Llangollen Fringe Acoustica earlier this year, plus guitar wizard James Bazley.
Trio members Rose, Ian and Adrian are each well-known in their own right on the region’s folk and acoustic circuit, and in a number of musical guises.
James Bazley is a well-respected, innovative and entertaining guitarist.
