With a unique voice that’s equal parts choirboy and soul boy Andrew Montgomery made waves in the Britpop era as frontman of Aberdeen band Geneva, scoring four top 40 singles and releasing two critically feted albums between 1996 and 2001.
After a decade of silence, Andrew returned in October 2014 with single Sorry Someday, which garnered airplay across BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland, XFM and Amazing Radio.
He follows through with début solo album Ruled By Dreams which was produced by Sean McGhee (Robyn, Imogen Heap, Alison Moyet.) The album features Suede guitarist Richard Oakes, Röyksopp and Schiller collaborator Kate Havnevik plus contributions from Ben Ellis (Catherine Wheel, Serafin) and Jody Gadsden and Simon Neilson from Autoheart (best known for their 2013 singles Moscow and The Sailor Song).
Andrew is marking the album release with a 10 date UK tour where, with full band, he’ll perform album highlights and classic Geneva tracks.
Andrew Montgomery will be coming to Chester on Tuesday, April 7 when he performs live at The Compass.
