Cumbrian saxophonist Phil Furneaux will play his newly released album with a four piece band at Alexander’s in Chester on Thursday, November 20.

A Real Distraction is the latest album from Furneaux who takes us on a personal journey through a rich emotional and musical landscape.

His music is influenced by Grover Washington, Snake Davis and Jan Garbarek and can be described as free played soft jazz, infused with soul, reggae, and the blues.

Over the past few years Phil has taken his solo act to Paris, Toledo, Spain, San Francisco and Boston.

Phil knows Chester well as he lived in Rhuddlan near Rhyl for the first 18 years of his life and has played at Alexander’s once before with his eight piece soul band.
