Thursday, June 11 sees the Joe Broughton Conservatoire Folk Ensemble bring their musical virtuosity into Alexander’s Jazz Theatre in Chester.
The 50 piece Conservatoire Folk Ensemble is a whole festival’s entertainment in one show. Funky arrangements, traditional and original tunes, virtuosic playing, humour, dancing and hats!
Director Joe Broughton has played with most big names of the folk scene including The Albion Band, Feast of Fiddles, Bellowhead, Chris While, Kevin Dempsey, The Urban Folk Quartet.
Apart from being an incredible show for the audience, the ensemble has become something of a training ground for the young folk generation, many of the stars of the folk scene today having been members.
