A free concert featuring one of the most talented bands to come out of Liverpool can be enjoyed this summer in Cheshire

Middlewich FAB Festival has announced Liverpudlian hitmakers The Christians as the Saturday night concert headline performer at this year’s event.

They join iconic band The South in the 2016 line up, which is set to be bigger and better than ever before. The Christians concert will be free and will also feature supporting artists.

The Christians rocked the music scene in the 1980s with their unique brand of socially-aware soul and went on to make a big impact in the charts, with songs such as Harvest for the World.

The famed band entered the charts at number two with their double-platinum selling debut album, which features classic hits such as Forgotten World, Hooverville and Ideal World.

Further musical success ensued in the 90s, with a number one album and singles such as Words.

The Christians collaborated with stars such as Paul McCartney for the number one charity single Ferry Across The Mersey which was released in aid of those affected by the Hillsborough disaster.

FAB festival-goers will now be able to enjoy live performances of The Christian’s hits at a free concert on June 18. Supporting artists Gaz Brookfield, a Bristol based soloist, and Na Leanai, a new Irish folk group, will also perform at the free concert.
